In June of 2009, Jay Bishoff, author and working musician, attempted to hitchhike across America with a camera in hand and a rag-tag film crew on his trail. Starting in Florida, we headed west to capture both the magic of the landscape and stories from the eclectic American people. We discovered more than just adventure. The journey renewed our faith in humanity and challenged fear-based ideas that keep people from reaching out to one another. “By Grace And Thumb” was meant to showcase my documentary directorial debut but, unfortunately, the funds ran out. The project has been shelved for the time being.
